Stars, Samplers, and Unusual Antique Quilt

Here's my California Gold Stars in a Time Warp. I had a harder time understanding the interpretation since a lot of the fabric she showed was caramel colored. This is my interpretation.
I have a couple more sampler blocks completed.  Flowers on Vine..

Album block and Tree Everlasting.
Check out  KAREN'S, LUANN'SCATHY'S, and NANCY's blogs to see how they are coming on their Ohio Sampler.

Little quilts for the swap are crisscrossing the world. Please be sure to thank the maker when yours arrives!! If you do not have their email address then ask me and I'll give it to you.

Here is what you may have missed on Instagram this week.

Laurie brought this unusual photo quilt to the class on Tuesday.
It has issues, but is so cool! I wish my photos would have stayed in the upright position.

Look at how fancy the "frame" is of this one.

It is on ebay right now and if I could have found it,  I would have added the link.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. The quilt is unusual. Do you think the pictures are sun prints?

I like your album block for the Ohio quilt. Mine is a bit boring with the solid color.

  4. Yes ! For the stars of BB, I understood that the California gold is a mixed between yellow/orange/caramel !
The quilt is so unusual with photos included !

  8. I really like that feathery fabric in the one gold star.
Flowers on vine is very cute.
Never have I seen such an old photo quilt. Interesting how the photos have "bled" into the quilt. Sad to think that such a work didn't stay in the family.

  9. I am having fun making the Stars. I can't identify all the fabrics as easy as you. I have just cut and stitched them up. Quilting my Swap quilt today to send out. mine should be arriving, I got an email that it was sent. Excited to see it.

  11. Lori you chose a favorite fabric of mine, the feather one which I have already used in a block. It was so interesting to see the photo quilt, thanks to Laurie B. I enjoyed your class very much and am anxious to get back on task with it. But first I am hand quilting my swap quilt. Was going to machine quilt but I almost always hand quilt these small ones. Thanks again for your visit up to our little corner of the world and sharing your lovely quilts ! It was fun reuniting with some quilting friends I haven't seen for a while.

  15. The sampler blocks are so intersteing. This is going to be an unusual folky quilt. [I didn t exactly ''get'' the California gold info either. Sounds to me like it was a marketing or fashion name for golden yellows, cashing in on the Gold Rush?]
